The Networking group was originally called Eastside Senior Network. In November of 2001 the board of ESN; myself (Brenda Suteu), Jim Norris, and Ken Cross, redirected, redesigned, and re-named the organization Metropolitan Senior Network. The three of us composed a mission statement, adopted core values, and set specific goals and objectives for a new healthcare marketing association.

Our motivation was to create an organization that would offer more education and be a guide and support for professionals (throughout Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington) who are given the task of both filling their company with referrals and keeping an eye on what is best for the senior population they are serving.

The Mission of Metropolitan Senior Network is dedicated to promoting the professionalism of Marketing, resulting in appropriate housing and long term care for residents. The core values of MSN are Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (C.A.R.E.). The focus of this marketing association is on successful ethical healthcare marketing.

"Thank you MSN Board of Directors for bringing inspirational and innovative programs to the senior healthcare sales force. MSN offers networking opportunities, training and support that cannot be matched. Every program has been outstanding. Congratulations on a job well done. "
Margaret Horn
Director of Program Development Avamere Health Services

"When we laid the ground work for MSN, our goal was to have an organization entirely focused on sales and marketing people in our industry. The attendance at MSN meetings is the best indicator demonstrating the program is filling a need. It is also a great networking time from which I have received many referrals. I am proud to encourage people to attend."
Jim Norris
Founding Board Member

"If I did not realize how important and well respected the MSN organization was prior to December 2002, I certainly did afterward. Winning the honor of "Marketing Professional of the Year" shot my professional image, my employment prospects, and my self esteem to entirly new levels. Membership in this organization helped me to focus on what was really important to me in my career, and made my dreams more accessible. I wear my MSN pin proudly."
